CPC driver Patrick Kellenberger, who is assigned to John Deere Shared Services in Davenport, Iowa, was traveling north on Interstate 55 on October 23 when he came across another truck driver flagging for help at mile marker 249. As Patrick approached, he noticed one of the front wheel hubs and brakes on the driver’s chassis had caught fire.
“Out of instinct and a bit of curiosity, I pulled over and jumped into action,” Patrick said. “Fire extinguisher in hand, I ran back and extinguished the flames.”
Ten minutes later, local police and fire departments arrived at the scene to offer additional assistance.
“When you talk to Patrick, you can tell he is the type of person who lives by the CPC core values,” said CPC Operations Manager Shawne Koche. “He respects others, he does what is right, and he performs with excellence.”
CPC commends Patrick’s courage, initiative, and willingness to assist a fellow truck driver in need. Keep up the excellent work!
