Early on Saturday, May 10, a Walgreens pharmacy manager pulled into a store parking lot in Covington, Kentucky, for work. She noticed a truck backed up to the store and drivers unloading inventory, so she decided to grab a few supplies on her way in. As she headed to the pharmacy, she thought about the important work drivers do and how they ensure her patients receive the care they need. To express her gratitude, she posted the following on LinkedIn about the Walgreens drivers who keep the health care industry moving.
Sharing a moment of quiet gratitude….
I went to work early Saturday morning, because I knew it was “truck day” and I could sneak in early around back! But you know, as I was walking toward the door and saw the Walgreens tractor trailer backed up to our store, unloading inventory— I had several thoughts run through my mind as I walked past the morning crew, grabbed two boxes of 10 dram vials and made my way to pharmacy…..and then I went back to snap this picture. I realized behind this moment was a long journey, countless hours on the road, and a team working behind the scenes at our distribution centers, all to ensure that our shelves stay stocked and our patients receive the care they need.
As pharmacists, we often receive thanks for our role in healthcare, but rarely do we acknowledge the people who make our work possible before a single prescription is ever filled. I’m talking about all the expense items on my shelves and in my drawers that wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for them! To the drivers who rise early, drive far, and deliver with care—and to the dedicated teams in our distribution centers—THANK YOU! Your work matters deeply, and it does not go unnoticed.
You are an essential part of patient care, and I’m incredibly grateful for everything you do for them, and for me!
Thanks to the CPC Logistics drivers assigned to Walgreens who perform with excellence every day!
