When confronted with challenges such as bad weather, tight deadlines or equipment issues, CPC Logistics team members always deliver for their customers—on time, safely and with professionalism.
In late December, CPC employees in Nazareth, Pennsylvania; Hartford, Connecticut; and Mansfield, Massachusetts, overcame difficult circumstances to transport essential goods to Walgreens stores throughout the Northeast.
A Critical Delivery Calls for a Dependable Driver
After a water main serving six central New York towns ruptured, Walgreens asked the CPC team in Nazareth for help transporting bottled water to stores in Syracuse, one of the impacted areas. The urgent need combined with a major winter storm prompted a call to one of CPC’s most dependable drivers, Ricardo Tatis.

“I was asked on December 26 to make these deliveries the very next day,” said Ricardo, who has been assigned to drive for Walgreens since 2017. “I knew it was an emergency, and even though the roads were bad, I said I’d try and do my best because if anyone needs me, I am there.”
On December 27, Ricardo traveled more than four hours from the distribution center in Nazareth to Syracuse. Despite the snow, sleet and ice he encountered on the way, he delivered 16 pallets of bottled water to six Walgreens stores.
“Ricardo is a great guy, both personally and professionally,” said CPC Operations Manager Bill Baines. “He has an excellent work ethic and never says no. When we need a go-to driver who we can count on to get the job done, we turn to him.”
When Ricardo returned home that evening, he was glad he accepted the assignment, even though it was difficult.
“The people at the stores were so happy to see me because they didn’t have any water,” Ricardo said.
The Walgreens team was also grateful for Ricardo’s hard work and dedication.
“Despite the snowstorm, Ricardo stepped up and delivered this on a Saturday,” said Walgreens Logistics Manager Chris Schmoyer. “I would say he’s our most dependable driver when we need critical deliveries done.”
A Prescription for Success
A winter storm brought heavy snow to Connecticut on December 26, blanketing some parts of the state in nearly 11 inches. With the inclement weather came several logistical difficulties for the CPC teams in Hartford and Mansfield that are responsible for delivering prescription medications to Walgreens stores throughout the area. Several truck drivers were snowed in, and there was a delay picking up a trailer.
“We have zero failures on these deliveries so far, and we intend to keep it that way,” said CPC Regional Manager Mario Rodriguez. “We scrambled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on December 27 to make sure everything was delivered safely and on time.”

Members of CPC’s management team, including Mario, Safety Supervisor Rich McCarthy and Micro-fulfillment Center Supervisor Patricia Taverez filled in to make deliveries for the drivers who were unable to report to work.
“CPC goes above and beyond to serve our clients,” Mario said. “No matter what or where or how, we make sure our customers are 100 percent satisfied and take care of them any way, shape or form.”
High safety standards, communication and teamwork helped make this effort a success.
“We have an amazing team, and everyone here works together,” Mario said. “It’s all about servicing the customer.”
