Since Tuesday, January 7, 2025, wildfires have raged across the Los Angeles area, destroying thousands of structures, including entire neighborhoods and blocks.
CPC Regional Manager David Flores—along with his wife Veronica Flores and brother-in-law Carlos Cano—recently volunteered to make blankets for people who have lost their homes and businesses.
“As a family, we wanted to do something that would be helpful and to give back to the community,” David said.
David, Veronica and Carlos currently live in nearby San Bernardino County, but they grew up in the Los Angeles area.
“We have family and friends who live in LA now who have been displaced and have lost pretty much everything,” David said.
The volunteer team made more than 1,000 blankets that were taken to shelters for distribution. Each came with a special note for the recipient.
“The note lets them know we send the blanket with love and that we hope it finds them in good spirits,” David said.
