Honoring CPC Veterans and Servicemembers

As the United States celebrates its 250^th birthday, CPC Logistics is thankful for all its team members who have served or are currently serving in the U.S. military. Many CPC employees also have family members who were or are members of the armed forces. Some of their stories and photos are below.

CPC Marketing Coordinator Robin Blackwell is a proud parent and aunt. Her daughter Kendal Blumenthal is a staff sergeant who is currently serving in the U.S. Army Band Pershing’s Own, which provides world-class music that supports the strategic objectives of the nation’s senior government and military leaders, honors the legacy of servicemembers, and represents the excellence and professionalism of the U.S. Army to people across the country and abroad.

Robin’s son-in-law, Ethan Sherer, musician petty officer 3rd class, is serving in the U.S. Navy Band Great Lakes. The band provides musical support for weekly Recruit Training Command graduations, official functions, military and civic ceremonies, community outreach initiatives, recruiting and retention efforts, and public performances throughout the Great Lakes region.

Robin’s great-niece, 17-year-old Nataleigh Malin, graduated from U.S. Army Basic Combat Training on July 30 in Fort Jackson, South Carolina. After graduation, she will return to her home in Tennessee to finish her senior year of high school but plans to go back to Fort Jackson in May 2027 for Advanced Individual Training in human resources.

Greg Boyington and Jeff Boyington, brothers who are both CPC Regional Managers, come from a family with a history of military service. Their first cousin once removed, Gregory “Pappy” Boyington, served as a fighter ace during World War II. He received the Medal of Honor, Navy Cross and Purple Heart and inspired a 1970s television show called “Baa Baa Black Sheep.” Greg, who is named after Pappy, served in the U.S. Navy from 1989 to 1993, and Jeff was in the U.S. Army from 1989 to 1997. Jeff’s son Jacob Boyington, a divisional driver for CPC, carried on the tradition by serving in the Army from 2015 to 2020.

Norman Jacobs Jr., a CPC driver assigned to Walgreens in Irving, New York, is a third-generation Marine. His grandfather, John Jakubowski, served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1905 to 1933, mostly in China. Norman Jacobs Sr. followed in his father’s footsteps by enlisting in the Marines in 1959, working as a radar repairman in California. Norman Jr. extended the family’s legacy of service by joining the Marines in 1982. He served in the infantry and as a security guard before being accepted into the Platoon Leaders Class. In 1989 he was medically discharged following a bicycle accident.

John Oakley, a driver assigned to a large consumer packaged goods company in Browns Summit, North Carolina, has a family legacy of military service. He was a member of the U.S. Air Force from 1988 to 1998 alongside his wife Jacqueline, who served from 1988 to 1992.

John’s father, Larry Arnold Oakley, was in the Air Force from 1958 to 1983.

William Fletcher Oakley, John’s grandfather, served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

John’s and Jacqueline’s son, Jordan M. Oakley, continued the tradition of service as a U.S. Marine from 2015 to 2019.

Camerin Parker, a driver assigned to Walgreens in Anderson, South Carolina, is honoring grandfather Ward Roger Neal Sr., who served in the Vietnam War as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army.

Camerin also gives a shout-out to cousin Joseph Isaac, who joined the U.S. Army in 2025 and is currently deployed in Washington, D.C.
