The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESRG), a United States Department of Defense agency, recently recognized CPC Operations Manager Wayne Steinkamp and the rest of the Mt. Vernon, Illinois, office as a Patriotic Employer.
The ESRG is dedicated to developing and promoting a culture in which all American employers support and value the military service of their employees. The Patriotic Employer award recognizes employers that are providing outstanding support for U.S. National Guard and Army Reserve employees.
“To me the award shows the dedication that we have to our drivers and the service they provide our company,” Wayne said. “It is a pleasure to lead these drivers and emphasize the support our company has for those who are in our country’s service. To be recognized by an employee for the support given was not expected, but I will cherish the thought forever. The values CPC has set forth are the best in our field.”
CPC driver Robert Hakizimana, who is assigned to drive for Walgreens in Mt. Vernon and is also a member of the Army National Guard, nominated Wayne for the award.
“Both my former manager Vic McCoy and my current manager Wayne Steinkamp have been instrumental in coordinating my work around drill schedule and multiple deployments within a span of two years,” Robert wrote in his nomination. “I maintained my position and seniority despite being away often for military obligations. CPC Logistics allowed me to be away even when notified on short notice. I have enjoyed working at CPC Logistics and appreciate their unwavering dedication and support for the armed forces and their employees who have served and continue to serve in the military.”
