In honor of Mother’s Day May 14, CPC is spotlighting two team members who have grown even closer to their moms through their work.
Javier Colon, a driver assigned to Walgreens in Puerto Rico and 2023 Driver of the Year, is grateful for the opportunity to work with CPC. His current job allows him to help care for his mother.
“CPC is family to me. If not for CPC, I don’t think my mother would be alive today. Seventeen years ago, I had booked a flight to go to the United States since I could not find suitable work here. Getting a job with CPC saved my family from having to commit my mom to a home for the elderly. I will always strive to give 100 percent to my CPC family. Every day I put on my uniform, I tell myself, ‘Your work is a self-portrait, so picture your work with quality.’” – Javier Colon
In 2022, Shelby Gillespie started working with CPC as a Regional Manager for John Deere in Davenport, Iowa, based on a recommendation from her mother, Michelle Powers, who also works at CPC handling payroll and billing for John Deere.
“I decided to work with my mother at CPC because I wanted to work for a good company that I could trust and grow into. I felt secure knowing my mother trusted the company. The thing I like most about working with my mother is that she’s always there to help and guide me. Luckily, I have her previous position, so she knows the ins and outs of my duties. Even though we haven’t worked together here long, my favorite moments are when we can talk about shared experiences and laugh about silly things that have happened to both of us. Working with my mom has been a blessing since life is busy and stressful. It’s nice to be able to turn to my mother at home and at work.” – Shelby Gillespie
Happy Mother’s Day to all the CPC moms!
