We are pleased to recognize driver Arthur (Kent) Alexander for 35 years of service to CPC Logistics.
Kent began his career with CPC in 1987 as a peddle and relay driver assigned to a Walgreens domicile in Atlantic, Iowa, that delivered products from the Walgreens distribution center in Windsor, Wisconsin. The truck was moved to Percival, Iowa, in 1990 and then to Tabor, Iowa, in 1993. Kent primarily served as a peddle driver until a third truck was added to that location in 2001. At that time, he became a relay driver, which is the position he holds today.
Throughout his employment with CPC, Kent has seen many changes at the Walgreens distribution center with moves back and forth between Windsor, Wisconsin, and Mount Vernon, Illinois. He has also witnessed several name changes for our company, including TLI, Sunbelt Transportation, Consolidated Personnel Corporation and currently, CPC Logistics Inc.
“The best things about working for CPC are being home every day, the people I work with, and all the store employees,” said Kent. “It is so much fun to go to work every day.”
Kent has watched clerks at the Walgreens stores move on to become District Managers. He added, “It has been such a cool ride. I’ve paid the mortgage because it has always been good money.”
Kent has been committed to safety since the beginning of his career with CPC. He tries to be better than he was the day before, strives to make things work regardless of difficult circumstances, and is always helping others do their best.
“Kent has been the consummate professional in how he handles all his duties, making safety his priority followed closely by superior service to the customer,” said CPC President Butch Wallis. “He has always done so in a pleasant manner, willing to help when needed. Being at a domicile location for the Walgreens account also means you must be reliable and dependable, and that is Kent. CPC and all of us who have been fortunate to work with him are better for the experience. We Thank Kent for his 35 years and wish him the best in his continued time with CPC.”
When away from work, Kent enjoys riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, a 1989 Softail Springer. He also likes riding trails on his Dual Sport motorcycle and Ranger side by side. Additionally, Kent loves spending time with his five grown children who are spread out from the East Coast to the West Coast.
CPC and Walgreens have been extremely fortunate to have Kent as part of their teams for more than three decades. Congratulations, Kent, and thank you for your commitment to demonstrating that the best drivers drive for CPC.
