Drivers in Pendergrass Georgia Celebrate One Year Without a Lost Time Injury

CPC Logistics truck drivers assigned to drive for Walgreens in Pendergrass GA, have reached a significant safety milestone: one year without a lost time injury.

“This is a truly remarkable accomplishment considering the volume, the miles, the weather and many other factors that each driver navigates and works through daily,” said CPC Operations Manager Jeff Boyington. “It is a true testament to each driver working safe, working smart and remaining committed to the goal of a safe workplace we can all be proud of.”

This is the third time in less than a decade that this fleet has been injury-free for an entire year.

“All these drivers have bought into the safety culture in Pendergrass and have made our distribution center the benchmark when it comes to working safely at Walgreens,” Jeff said.

According to Jeff, there are several factors behind this safety accomplishment:

• Want: Drivers must want to show up each day, do their jobs, and do them the right way.
• Dedication: Anyone can do anything right for an hour, a day or a week. However, it takes a huge amount of dedication from every driver to achieve something of this magnitude.
• Commitment: If drivers are not committed to participating in and promoting the safety culture, an accomplishment like this is not possible. It certainly won’t happen multiple times in a short period of years.
• Luck: Of course, there is a little luck at play, too.

“When you get to the root of this accomplishment, it boils down to heart,” Jeff said. “Our drivers are doing the job the right way every day.”
