Five CPC Logistics truck drivers from across the United States were named National Private Truck Council (NPTC) National Driver All-Stars at the annual NPTC National Safety Conference September 5 in Orlando, Florida.
Every year NPTC National Driver All-Star awards are given to private fleet truck drivers who have demonstrated high performance standards against their peers throughout the country based on customer service, safety, adherence to company standards, regulatory compliance and community service.
During the awards ceremony the NPTC individually recognized the below CPC drivers:
- Jose Cruz, assigned to Toyota Quality Parts Express in South Gate, California
- Jerrid Gossett, assigned to Fabri-Kal in Walhalla, South Carolina
- Ricky Owens, assigned to Walgreens in Easley, South Carolina
- Christie Tilton, assigned to a large consumer packaged goods company in Eaton, Ohio
- Brian Troutman, assigned to John Deere in Wayland, Iowa
“Being selected for this award from a pool of so many incredible drivers is very special to me,” Troutman said. “I attribute my success to my dad, who taught me early on that no matter whose name is on the truck or who you pull for, you treat it as if it were your own. Pride in your ability to maintain your vehicle and pleasing your customer should be the foundation of any good driver.”
Since the program began in 2009, the NPTC has named 114 CPC Logistics truck drivers as National Driver All-Stars, which is more than any other company in the industry.
“It is an honor to receive this award and a privilege to be a part of a company like CPC,” Cruz said. “I am lucky to work with people who truly care about what they do and the customers they serve.”
As a testament to its commitment to safety, CPC’s ranks also include 13 drivers inducted into the NPTC Driver Hall of Fame and more than 155 drivers who have driven 1 million miles or more without a preventable accident.
“I’m committed to safety by actively thinking about issues that may occur and trying to be proactive,” Tilton said. “I also try to encourage others to be safe. As a trainer I instill in new hires how important it is to always do things as safely as possible. Safety is a huge part of the vision the customer has for the fleet, and I think it’s important to stress that to people as soon as they get here.”
