
Transportation Supervisor | Torrance CA

Job Functions include:
- Responsible for the oversight and management (direction, coordination, and control of activities) of the CPC dispatchers, drivers, and loaders assigned to Toyota Quality Parts within the guidelines of authorized CPC policies, programs, procedures, budgets, laws, and business ethics.
- Responsible for coordinating and overseeing the scheduling of routes and movement of the customers’ merchandise between distribution centers, vendors, and customers.
- Responsible for assuring that all operations are in adherence to federal, state and local laws as well as CPC policies and procedures.
- Responsible for the efficiency of the operation, looking for ways to improve service and control costs.
Job Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Manage the CPC Dispatch and Administrative team by establishing their work schedules, to provide coverage of the operation, and overseeing the execution of their duties.
- Actively participate in the hiring, orientation, training, and management of new CPC dispatchers, loaders, and administrative personnel who will be assigned to TQPE.
- Receive, review, and investigate all grievances filed by CPC employees in accordance with the Grievance Procedures of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Resolve and adjust grievances if possible or forward to the CPC Regional Manager.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations, review hours of service on drivers, vehicle inspection reports, mileage and trip sheets, and other required company reports to include reviewing and maintaining files of above listed documents and others as deemed necessary by CPC Manager.
- Investigate and review all accidents and on-the-job injuries. Work with customer leadership, CPC RM, and CPC Safety Manager to reduce claims and enhance safe operations.
- Store visits and driver ride-alongs.
Requirements:
- Education: Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum of three years of Transportation & Warehouse Management Experience
- Other requirements:
- Possess strong math and problem-solving skills
- Possess good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to manage and oversee the CPC dispatch team
- Ability to multi-task and adjust to changing priorities
- Strong Excel and Word (Microsoft) skills
- Knowledge of the DOT Hours of Service Regulations and understanding of Electronic Logging Devices
