The Women In Trucking Association (WIT) recently named CPC Logistics as a 2022 Top Company for Women to Work for in Transportation.
“With women making up only 14 percent of professional drivers, it is critical to advance gender diversity in transportation and logistics,” said CPC President Butch Wallis. “We’re proud of this recognition and our ongoing partnership with WIT to continue breaking down the barriers female drivers face as well as celebrating their tremendous contributions to the industry.”
The non-profit organization’s mission is to encourage the employment of women in the trucking industry, promote their accomplishments and minimize the obstacles they face. WIT uses a two-step process to determine the organizations named to this. First, nominations of each company are reviewed to ensure they meet a minimum threshold of qualifications, including corporate cultures that foster gender diversity; competitive compensation and benefits; flexible hours and work requirements; professional development opportunities; and career advancement opportunities. Then the final ballot of companies is voted on by individuals in the industry.
CPC’s Vice President of Risk Management John Bickel and Senior Manager of Recruiting Linnette Torres recently accepted the award at the WIT Accelerate! Conference & Expo November 13-16 in Dallas.
“CPC is leading by example in the transportation and logistics industry’s efforts to recruit and retain more women,” Linnette said. “We believe in building relationships, diversity and equal opportunities to earn financial stability, a better quality of life and great benefits. Everyone is valued and treated with respect, and there is always room for growth.”
CPC was also recognized in WIT’s most recent edition of Redefining the Road, which can be downloaded for free here.
“CPC has been a great company to work for,” said CPC driver Christie Tilton. “In an ongoing truck driver shortage, female drivers, who also tend to be safe drivers, could be a huge asset to a company. It’s nice that CPC understands that and is working to attract more.”
