CPC Logistics will recognize 20 Hall of Fame and All-Star Drivers from across the United States and Canada during its special Driver Salute event June 4-5, 2022.
Before the Enjoy Illinois 300 NASCAR Cup Series race at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois, on Sunday, CPC truck drivers will have the opportunity to drive two pre-race laps around the track in their cabs. During their individual parade lap, an announcer will read the driver’s name and their accomplishments, and their picture will be broadcast on the jumbotron. Then the drivers will drive a second lap as a group at a higher speed and blow their horns when passing the grandstand. After their laps, they will go to the infield to help hold a large American flag during the pre-race National Anthem ceremony. For the remainder of the day, they can enjoy CPC’s VIP tent, concerts and performances, and of course, the big race.
The Driver Salute event kicks off the day before on Saturday when the drivers arrive and check in to their rooms at St. Louis Union Station Hotel. That evening, CPC is hosting a reception at PBR St. Louis in Ballpark Village where drivers as well as customers and members of the company’s leadership team will have food and drinks. The drivers will also be recognized for their achievements during an awards ceremony led by CPC President Butch Wallis and Managing Director Duane Trower.
CPC organized the event to show its appreciation for its entire team of safe, experienced truck drivers. Currently, 11 Hall of Fame Drivers, 98 All-Star Drivers and more than 155 Million Mile award recipients have driven for CPC.
“Our dedicated truck drivers should be proud of all their hard work and dedication,” said Wallis. “By powering some of the most recognizable fleets on the road, they keep our country running smoothly. The Driver Salute is just one great way to recognize their achievements.”
